Mallence founded the FEMAL E INNOVATION LAB in August 2017 to provide young women who lost their homes and families in the Freetown mudslide with skills, that enable them to generate an income to kick start a new life.

The young women are taught by young Sierra Leonean innovators such as Mohamed Kamara and Master Sabi, how to build solar powered mobile phone charging stations, made from scrap materials such as cigarette lighters from old cars. They can operate the stations commercially in remote villages, as they are solar powered and can charge between 50-100 phones.
